Meet the Team

Jim McMeekin - Business Development Director
Jim joined Champion in 2009 with a brief to firmly establish Champion Contractors in the freelance sector. He has twenty years' experience of providing services to contractors, six of those with an accountancy support business and fourteen years with a large engineering and technical recruitment company.
At Champion Contractors, Jim is responsible for identifying new sales and business development opportunities, as well as introducing the service to freelancers, agencies and end-client organisatons.
In his spare time, Jim enjoys playing sport, particularly golf and five aside football.

Chris Bloor - Operations Manager
Chris has seven years' experience of providing services to contractors. With a degree in business management from Sheffield Hallam University, Chris kick started his career in the banking industry until a slight career change ensued, prompted by a number of friends who were working as contractors at the time.
Chris acts as a point of contact for new and existing clients, providing assistance with the day to day running of their limited companies, in addition to developing and implementing processes to provide the highest levels of service.
When Chris is not in the office he enjoys city breaks, socializing and cooking for friends and has even been known to belt out a few hits on Singstar, on occasion.

Richard Allen - Senior Sales Manager
Richard joined Champion in 2010. His background lies in providing VAT reclamation services to large blue chip multinational companies, where he was responsible for new business. He has five years' experience of providing services to contractors, both in sales and account management roles.
Richard is responsible for growing Champion Contractors in the south of England and specialises in the fields of technology, engineering and healthcare. His role involves introducing the service to freelancers and agencies and developing lasting relationships with them.
Most of Richard's free time is taken up by his two young sons. When they aren't running him ragged he enjoys a game of golf, a good book and a large glass of red.

Martin Frain - Account Manager
Martin joined Champion in 2010 and has two years' experience of providing services to contractors. Prior to starting his career in this industry, he worked for a well established mortgage distributor.
At Champion Contractors, Martin's role is to inform potential clients about the range of services available, as well as acting as a point of contact for current clients, dealing with their day to day queries.
Martin is a massive Leigh Centurions fan and his footy team of choice is Manchester United. He enjoys walking his boxer dog, Jake and has recently taken up golf.

Paul Brides - Group Tax Compliance Manager
Paul has been with Champion for eleven years and is Head of Tax Compliance for the Group. He is responsible for all of the tax aspects of the Champion Contractors service and is ATT qualified.
Out of work, season ticket holder Paul divides his free time between his beloved Manchester United and his beloved daughter, Georgie.

Victoria Bolton - Tax Senior
Victoria joined Champion in 2007 and gained her ATT qualification in early 2008. She currently looks after Champion's personal tax clients and also does some corporation tax work.
Victoria deals with the day to day tax affairs of Champion Contractors clients including VAT administration and returns preparation, PAYE, personal tax returns and corporation tax returns.
In her spare time, Victoria likes to keep fit with ballroom dancing classes and has recently joined a local netball team. Socially she enjoys going out for meals and doesn't shy away from the odd drink or two at the weekend.

Clare Tattersall - Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior
Clare has worked for Champion for six years and joined the Audit & Accounts department three and a half years ago. She currently looks after a varied portfolio of clients and is working towards completing her studies.
Clare reviews year end accounts for all of the Champion Contractors clients, as well as performing account reconciliations.
In her free time, Clare enjoys going for long walks and socialising with friends.

Diane Nixon - Payroll Manager
Diane heads up the Payroll function for the Champion Group. She has worked for Champion since 2003 and manages the payroll for clients as well as internally for Champion. Diane oversees the processing of payments to all Umbrella clients.
Out of work, shopaholic Diane likes nothing better than a spot of retail therapy, walking and socialising with friends.
